How We Test
At DollTested, reliable reviews start with real-world experience. We do not rely solely on manufacturer specifications or promotional images. Sex dolls, torsos and accessories are actually owned, used and evaluated over time.
From Unboxing to Long-Term Ownership
From the moment a product arrives, we document the packaging, delivery and included accessories. We examine build quality, materials and fine details using our own photography. From there, we assess handling, joint movement, material feel and real-world usability. Reviews are based on extended ownership, with particular attention to wear, maintenance, durability and how the product changes over time.
Fixed Criteria & the DollTested Award System
To compare products fairly, every review is evaluated using six fixed categories: Build Quality & Finish, Realism, Handling & Poseability, Real-World Use, Cleaning & Maintenance, and Durability / Long-Term Ownership.
Each category receives a score from 1 to 5. These scores, together with the overall real-world experience, determine whether a product qualifies for an official DollTested Bronze, Silver or Gold Award.
Award levels
Bronze: 3.5–3.99
Silver: 4.0–4.49
Gold: 4.5–5.0
Full Editorial Independence & Transparency
Weak points, vulnerabilities and difficult cleaning routines are always mentioned openly and honestly. Collaborations with manufacturers or free review products do not receive preferential treatment and never guarantee a positive review, a high score or an award.
Reviews can also be updated over time when long-term use reveals new information, wear or changes in performance. This helps ensure that readers can continue to rely on information that is current, practical and trustworthy.
